AGM PVS-14E 3AL1 Night Vision Monocular
Gen 3 night vision — the real thing, not a toy.
around $4,195
The PVS-14 is the benchmark night vision device — the shape you picture when someone says 'night vision goggles' — and the 3AL1 is AGM's Gen 3 version. It amplifies starlight and moonlight into a bright green image, so the night sky looks like the night sky, only visible. If thermal is about detection, this is about observation: you see what you'd see, if your eyes worked at night.

Why we like it
- Gen 3 image intensifier — genuine low-light performance
- Natural view: amplified real light, not a heat map
- The PVS-14 form factor — huge accessory ecosystem
Keep in mind
- Over $4,000 — a serious commitment
- Needs some ambient light; useless in a cave
- Bright lights can damage the tube — handle with care
