AGM TaipanV2 15-256 Thermal Imaging Monocular
A step up in reach — same sensor, more detection range.
around $595
The middle TaipanV2: same 256x192 sensor as the 10-256 with a longer lens for more detection range. If the entry model is 'does thermal work for skywatching?', this one is 'let me actually track what I find'. The $100 step up buys you noticeably more time on target.

Why we like it
- More detection range than the 10-256
- Same simple handheld operation
- Still under $600 — the sweet spot
Keep in mind
- Same coarse 256x192 sensor
- Narrower field of view than the 10-256
- Won't see through clouds or glass
